Hope and harmony came together in Winnipeg's core when hundreds of people gathered for a Flash Mob to raise awareness for 1Hope Winnipeg.
The Flash Mob took place at Portage Place over the lunch hour and featured local hip hop artists Sadie and Bubba B, who teamed up to sing 'My World' - a song they've gifted to 1Hope Winnipeg. You can purchase the song at http://1hopewinnipeg.com/myworld/

Musical FM in Hague Train stations Netherlands
The Hague Central Station was the scene of a musical flashmob on Tuesday morning. The flashmob was a ‘spontaneous action’, where people come out of the crowd to perform a musical protest action before mingling back into the crowd.
The participants were members of broadcasting orchestras and the Netherlands Radio Choir.
In the run up to the Rutte government’s statement on proposed cultural cuts, the flashmob held their own kind of musical protest in the busy train station.

Imagine the scene: you've just arrived at Heathrow's Terminal 5 after a long flight, feeling a bit stinky, a bit disorientated. And then you are greeted by this...
Yep, the T-Mobile flash mob is back, back, back! This morning 500 people, dressed as waiting public, taxi drivers, cabin crew, baggage handlers and T-Mobile staff and customers, have been greeting passengers walking through arrivals at Heathrow's Terminal 5 with a bit of singing and dancing.
Clips from the footage shot so far are shown above (unfortunately the film also includes some brand speech from T-Mobile - sorry folks). The finished ad will break on Friday night at 10.15pm, when a full three-minute version will be aired simultaneously across more than 80 digital and terrestrial commercial TV channels. Agency Saatchi & Saatchi are clearly confident of the ad's success, and following the huge popularity of its earlier flash mob spots, perhaps it has a right to be. But has the flash mob ad had its day?

Mirror Ball Flash Mob UoN 20 10 2010
Weird enough to post here :-)
On the 20 October 2010 UoN Stalkerspace organised a flash mob underneath a mirror ball in the Auchmuty Library. Cultural Collections (University of Newcastle Australia) made history in 2009 by installing the world's first mirror ball in a library archives repository as part of their You Are Here Now Exhibition.

ART ATTACK VII: Kids Who Care -- an international musical theatre company based in Fort Worth, Texas -- delivered 5 minutes of "Fame" for its Art Attack.

The demonstration, organised by Facebook group Queer Kissing Flashmob, is to protest against the Pope's alleged anti-gay views.
Gays will take to the streets when Benedict XVI leaves Barcelona Cathedral on his way to the famous Sagrada Familia church on November 7. The Pope caused controversy two years ago when he suggested that homosexuality was as dangerous as the destruction of the rainforest.

This happened about a year ago during the thanksgiving season. Though it's abit late for me to discover but hey better late than never, right?
This impromptu event was attended by lots of well known people, including top Youtuber, Shaycarl from Shaytards, projblogsphere, THEkrismohfanz and many more close friends. The song chosen for this mob is PHamous, paying homage to the venue where this event happened.

The day before this performance 800 gathered together to learn the dance and the day of everyone worked together to teach each other the dance!

The members of the flash mob got their jive on to Greased Lightning from the musical Grease while seven hidden cameras filmed the dance and people's reactions.

Stijn Van de Velde organised the event for a student project for South Seas Film and Television school, where he studies editing.
He said he appealed to the other 126 students for their help and set up a Facebook page to organise the two dance rehearsals before the event.

HSIA's Breast Cancer FUNdraiser Flash Mob
Halifax Stanfield International Airport employees, friends and family spent months preparing for the Breast Cancer FUNdraiser Flash Mob that took place in the main lobby on September 16, 2010. Thanks to their hard work and impressive dance moves, more than $7700 was raised for Breast Cancer Research. And that total is climbing. Anchorage Alaska Mamma Mia! Flash Mob
On opening night of Mamma Mia! in Anchorage, Alaska, a group of people held a flash mob in Town Square Park to celebrate the start of Mamma Mia!'s run. It is likely the biggest flash mob in Alaska.
Event - Cultural Protest To Take Place At Erie County Hall
BUFFALO, NY-- As workers at Erie County Hall leave for the day on Monday, they will be met by a group of protesters.
A flash mob protest will take place on the steps of County Hall on Monday, October 25 at 4pm.
Artists, technicians, designers, actors, musicians, administrators, and art supporters are all encouraged to attend the protest.
They will be protesting the recent funding cut to all cultural organizations, except the "Big Ten", announced in Erie County Executive Chris Collins' 2011 budget.

Event - Muskegon congregation plans 'flash mob,' cemetery tours for Halloween
MUSKEGON — The Harbor Unitarian Universalist Congregation (HUUC), 1296 Montgomery, is planning a "zombie flash mob" in downtown Muskegon on Sunday.
The mob will get organized (makeup, rehearsal) at the church at 3:30 p.m., and then there will be a zombie performance-art dance downtown at 5 p.m.

Adelaide flash mob freezes Mall for wounded aid workers

Tucson Zombie Walk - Event
For Zombie Walk 2010, registration will start at 3 p.m. Participants have to either contribute an item of non-perishable food or make a monetary donation in order to be part of the walk, and are encouraged to dress up like a dead version of an actor or a character from a movie, as the theme is "Film Fiends." At 4 p.m., the undead have the opportunity to dance in "Thrill the World," a worldwide event in which individuals lurch to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" all at the same time. Zwaduk recommends checking YouTube tutorials if you want to be a part of it but don't know the moves. "A lot of people enjoyed it last year and asked if we were going to do it again; ... everyone who danced last year knew it," said Zwaduk.
The walk itself will creep down Fourth Avenue and turn around at Fourth Street, with the Best in Show winner (as determined by the costume contest) leading. On the way back, the group limps downtown toward Access Tucson. The culmination will be a War of the Worlds-style takeover with actors in the studio, and the station will actually go off air.
The event itself has grown into something with a large following. Lopez and Zwaduk are most surprised by the number of kids who come to the event dressed to the hilt.
"One thing that I remember the first year—I was at the Rialto and I was almost afraid that people wouldn't show up," Lopez said. "The first people who showed up were this mom and her three kids, ranging in age from five to 15. For the walk, I carry around a squirt bottle full of fake blood, and she was like 'Spray my kids down!' It was just awesome seeing this mom bringing her kids and really getting into it."

Planned Event - douglas county, Michigan
Anyone interested in learning the dance for the flash-mob “Thriller” routine, to be performed before the Oct. 30 adult Halloween parade in Douglas, is invited to join us at Saugatuck Brewing Co. Monday, Oct. 25, Tuesday, Oct. 26, and Friday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

It's kind of like an old-school scene from the movie "Fame" but with a 2010 twist. It’s now called a "flash mob".
The Horizon High School show choir led a "flash-mob" dance on campus Wednesday. Just a few students start out in what looks like a spontaneous dance but then hundreds of other eventually join in.
By the end of the dance, the flash mob was 300 students strong.
Choir members organized the lunch-time dance to promote the school's Broadway Under the Stars event this weekend

MSU Student Life hosts flash mob
MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon and Sparty join a flash mob organized by the MSU Dept. of Student Life on Saturday at Demonstration Field. The flash mob was the idea of Denise Maybank, senior associate vice president for Student Affairs and Services, third from left.
MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, Sparty and about a hundred green-T-shirt clad students sidestepped and fist pumped their way across Demonstration Field Saturday morning.
The MSU Department of Student Life hosted a “flash mob” before the Homecoming football game for students and staff to do the Spartan Shuffle.
“We just wanted to do something fun and exciting for homecoming and this just seemed like the right thing to do to get things started,” said Denise Maybank, senior associate vice president for Student Affairs and Services.
A flash mob is when a large group of people gather suddenly in a public area and begin an activity such as dancing.
“I’m not sure where it originally came from,” communication junior Elizabeth Battiste said. “But I know at the university, President Simon really wanted to do it and Dr. Maybank … was really excited about it too.”
Battiste helped organize the event and promote it via Facebook, Twitter and an instructional YouTube video that teaches students how to do the Spartan Shuffle, or “the Sparty.” Battiste said the response was strong and they hope to continue it for years to come.
Battiste also was among the participants in the dance that was led by Maybank. Along with organizing the event, Maybank choreographed the dance.
“(I) just tried to find easy steps that people wouldn’t be threatened by so that they feel comfortable doing it,” Maybank said.
“It’s an easy line dance. No different than the Cupid Shuffle or anything else.”
Graduate student Lizzy Thornton had seen videos of flash mobs at other universities, such as Grand Valley State University and Ohio State University, so when she heard about this event she wanted to be a part of it.
“I was really excited to see MSU doing something like this for the students,” Thornton said. “There were a good number of people. It was fantastic to see Lou Anna Simon out here as well and Sparty.”
Thornton said she hopes the event, which was filmed, will bring positive publicity to the university if it goes viral.
Overall, she said she enjoyed the event and will take something away from the experience, figuratively and literally.
“It’s always great to get a free T-shirt,” Thornton said.

Devant des touristes étonnés, plus de 300 danseurs se sont réunis pour participer à une flash mob sur le parvis de Notre-Dame à Paris.
Au son de la musique des publicités de La Mutuelle Générale (Dancing with myself de Billy Idol), se sont succédés une chorégraphie, un show de break dance et .. Mia Frye en personne qui est venue clore la flash mob déguisée en Napoléon.
